| June 29, 2009: CAN: Sun Life Financial underwriting enhancements... |
Effective June 29, 2009, Sun Life Financial introduced changes that reduce underwriting requirements, increase processing speed, and reduce the impact on customers. These new age and amount changes include:
· Removing MVRs (Motor Vehicle Record) below $2.5 million of life insurance.
· Replacing medicals with paramedicals for clients less than age 66 and amounts up to $5 million for life insurance.
· Introduction of Vitals (the measure of the client’s height, weight, blood pressure and pulse) as a new evidence type.
These changes will result in less evidence being required in about one third of life cases and half of all critical illness insurance applications – a positive step that will ensure Sun Life Financial underwriting remains a leader in the very competitive Canadian market place.
